This year has been filled with enormous trauma for many of us due to horrific murders in our inner cities, the continued war on African-Americans, ambushes of police officers and a steady stream of untimely deaths of African-American journalists and entertainers, among other things.
Yet, in the midst of all the turmoil and feelings of loss, there is still a lot for which we are grateful. As you travel to celebrate the Thanksgiving season with loved ones, friends and family, take some time to say a prayer for those who are grieving. Say a prayer for those who suffered loss. Say a prayer for someone who lost a job, a home, a relationship, a way of life.
As you celebrate your blessings and express appreciation for what makes your life rich and vibrant, take a moment to acknowledge, support and give solace to those among you who need an extra word of encouragement and resources. Remember that being thankful is not a static state. A thankful heart is open wide to bless, honor, support and enrich others.

For many families, this has been a very difficult year, with significant acts of terror across the globe, illness and the deaths of loved ones. Some families have experienced job loss or financial and medical uncertainty.
Thanksgiving usually means time for family, friends and food.
Yet, despite enormous challenges and regardless of the uncertainty that they bring, being thankful should be a constant in our lives because without much effort, we can all find several things in our lives for which we are grateful.
For some it might be the ability to wake up each morning and breathe fresh air, for others it might be having the comfort of being loved, while for others it might be the sense of satisfaction that comes from pursuing a career path that brings joy and fulfillment.
This Thanksgiving season take the time to express your gratitude for your life, family, friends, health, ability to earn, education and the ability to freely assemble and practice your religion as you please.
That’s just a short list of things we should be thankful for because being thankful is never cliché. Happy Thanksgiving!–OnPointPress.net—
Thanksgiving is a period when we all come together to enjoy food, fun, family, friendship and the myriad of blessings that we have experienced n our lives.
At OnPointPress.net, we are thankful for the same reasons. Yet, as we give thanks for the blessings in our lives, we pause to express condolences for those who have suffered illness and death in their families and we send words of encouragement to those who are experiencing challenges in any way.
We especially send prayers to the families of unarmed Black and Latino men who have lost their lives at the hands of unlawful police officers due to racial stereotyping, as well as all those who were victims of criminal acts in any way.
For those who have to work on Thanksgiving Day, we will keep you in our thoughts and pray that you will get the opportunity at some point during the Thanksgiving period to relax with your families and celebrate the blessings that have brightened your lives throughout this year. Happy Thanksgiving!-OnPointPress.net.
